A huge congratulations to the year 6 girls who took part in the North Dorset regional cricket competition on Wednesday and came second, putting them through to the county finals in 2 weeks time. Best of luck girls.

Also, a big well done to the year 5 mixed cricket team, who came a very respectable 4th out of 12. They  displayed some really strong fielding, batting and bowling skills, with their captain Owain, leading by example. Great team work, well done.

CHAMPIONS - Indoor athletics

Over recent weeks, a group of selected children from year 5 and 6, have been attending the Blandford Schools indoor athletics training sessions, held at the Blandford School. The following children were selected to represent the Blandford area at the North Dorset indoor athletics meet, which took place earlier this week. Making up the majority of the team, they particpated in a variety of different events and won the competition. They now go forward to the county competition. Fantastic news. Well done.

GIRLS FOOTBALL FESTIVAL

Last week,  a group of girls from years 4, 5 and 6 were invited to a girls football festival at the Blandford school, which had been organised by Dorset FA in conjunction with Blandford FC. It was a cold evening, but 11 students made up the large majority of girls from the cluster. In fact, it was more like a dedicated BSM training session! The girls passed, tackled, shot and headed the ball with great enthusiasm and did both themselves and the school proud. Well done to all who attended.

If anyone, girls or boys, are interested in taking up football outside of school, then please speak to Mrs Thomas or Mr Lavis. It's a great way to keep fit, make new friends and be part of a team.
